Widely Mobile Ltd ("we," "our," or "us") is the data controller for personal information processed through our consumer services. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our services, including our website (widely-mobile.com), mobile applications, and related platforms.
Data controller
Data controller: Widely Mobile Ltd
Registered address: Suite 6, The Belmont, 89 Middleton Road, Manchester, England, M8 4JY
Email: info@widely-mobile.com
Data We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
Account Information
- Name, email address, phone number, and other details provided during registration.
- Proof of address, identity, or documentation required for specific services.
Service Usage Data
- Logs related to calls, messages, and usage patterns for billing and service optimization.
- When you enable optional Pro or Business features, call recordings and transcriptions created through those features.
- Contacts or address-book entries you choose to sync or use inside the app for calling and messaging.
Payment Information
- Payment card details processed securely through trusted third-party payment providers (e.g., Stripe).
- Account balance and top-up data.
Technical Data
- Device type, IP address, and browser information to operate the service.
Location
- We use your location to remind you to set up Receive SIM calls and your eSIM before you fly.
- That has to be done at home. From abroad it often fails.
- You can also share a pin in chat or fill an address. We do not sell your location.
How We Use Your Data
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain our services, including telephone numbers (DIDs), voice calling, SMS, in-app messaging, Receive SIM calls, and pay-as-you-go mobile data (eSIM).
- Remind you to set up Receive SIM calls and your eSIM before you fly, so you are not stuck doing it from abroad.
- Process top-ups, usage charges, and recurring service rentals.
- Operate optional platform features such as call recording, transcription, and AI-assisted call handling when you subscribe to a plan that includes them and turn those features on. WhatsApp AI uses the knowledge you store for that number to draft replies. Those replies, and AI receptionist calls that use Widely's model account, may be processed by OpenAI. A key you store yourself is used only for that receptionist and is not shown back to you.
- Provide customer support through in-app chat, email, and other channels you use to contact us.
- Enhance service functionality and customer experience.
- Send you service-related updates or important notifications.
- Comply with legal obligations or respond to law enforcement requests.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. However, we may share it with:
Trusted Service Providers: Payment processors, telecommunications networks, cloud infrastructure providers, and other partners essential for delivering our services.
Legal and Regulatory Authorities: When required to comply with applicable laws or in response to lawful requests.
International transfers
We and our telecommunications and technology partners may process personal data in the United Kingdom, the United States, and other countries. When you use transcription or other AI-assisted features, related content may be processed by AI service providers such as OpenAI in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable law (such as contractual protections).
Connecting an AI
You can connect an AI application you choose (for example Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Grok, Cline, or Instinct) to your Widely account. You pick the account and the permissions. The application can then use only what you ticked — call history, messages, contacts, your numbers, transcripts, voicemail, and usage, and the actions your plan includes, such as sending a message, placing a call, having Widely speak on a call, and changing your own forwarding. Connecting the account is the approval for the permissions you granted, including buying a number, ordering an eSIM, and spending wallet money.
A connected application can buy a number, order an eSIM, and spend wallet money when you granted those permissions. You disconnect it at any time in the Widely app under Home, then Account, then Connected apps. Disconnecting takes effect immediately: the application’s access tokens stop working. Widely keeps a record that access happened (which application, when, and how many items), not the content of the call or message. Widely cannot delete copies the AI application already stored on its own systems.
The same rules are described at widely-mobile.com/mcp.
